boston is at 63. that's another warm spot there in miami. elsewhere, it is a cold start to this november morning. throughout the morning for the next couple of hours, probably till about 9:00 or so, we'll have the rain coming through with the breezes kicking up around 20 miles an hour. we already have about .75 to an inch of rain. not much more on top of what's already falling. by noontime, cloudy, chilly, the rain over. still a northwest wind gusting to 20 miles an hour. still in the 40s. we'll stay in the 40s the rest of the day today, and maybe a little sunshine breaking out. that may be perhaps mid to late afternoon. we'll be back down to near 40 by midnight. and then it will continue to drop all the way to near 30 by dawn rm tomorrow. quite a cold start to wednesday. bright and sunny day tomorrow. highs reaching near 50. cold mornings and chilly afternoons with sunshine on thursday, friday, and saturday. increasing clouds sunday. still chilly. might get rain sunday evening into monday. stay tuned. we'll keep you posted on that. a look a

they bring in there and who has been with the boston globe for years. cheryl: while a market selloff would be the likely reason for falling off the fiscal cliff. joining us now is mark. you are a big dividend supporter. major selloff in the market. how are you feeling now? >> i still think dividends are the way to go long-term. we could get a selloff. one thing to keep in mind, there is an argument out there that this increase in taxes on dividends would really sink dividend stocks because that would make them less attractive. if you go back years, there have been many studies that have shown higher taxes on dividends have higher returns on those stocks and even the s&p 500. there is no historical correlation between lower returns on dividends. cheryl: at the same time, what we are seeing now is constitutional as you and i know. these have certain parameters they have to meet. the fear is they will have to sell out some of these dividend names. is this bad for shareholders? >> in the short term, it definitely is. for a long-term investor, it will create
